The Mantelpiece Series is an ongoing collaboration with photographer Trevor Mein that commenced in 2007.

The series has been driven by a desire to record examples of the mantelpiece before houses are sold and family treasures are redistributed. The series describes a bygone era when the mantelpiece was the focal point in the living room and the central fireplace heated the home. In a time of less material goods the mantel shelf provided a small exhibition space for significant family photographs and valued objects.
